5 Best Women’s Shoes for Walt Disney World
Hey ya’ll! Lauren, Matt’s wife here again! This time I’m back to help with what may seem like a very simple task, selecting the correct pair of shoes for walking through all those magical miles in the Disney parks.
While it may seem simple and straightforward, selecting the right pair of shoes is critical because you will walk thousands of steps each day. While we may not be running the marathons my husband enjoys running through the parks, picking the wrong pair of shoes can make or break your day and even the remainder of your vacation.
From my personal experience as a former athlete, a Mother of three and plenty of steps logged in Disney and Universal parks I’ve compiled a list of the five best women’s shoes for Walt Disney World.
Here are the top five women’s shoes for Disney World that will keep your feet happy, comfortable and fashionable all day long!

Nike Pegasus 39 or 40
The Nike Pegasus is a classic running shoe that is near perfect for Disney World as well as a staple for my husband and myself in our daily lives. Not only is it comfortable, it also has the perfect amount of cushioning without having too much like other name brand active shoes.
The perfect cushion, pleasant fit and durability makes this easily my top pick for a Disney vacation.
My husband and I are both very active individuals who have worn this shoe year after year not only for vacations such as Disney, but for our daily workouts as well. It remains our favorite to this day, having purchased multiple pairs each year.
One bonus about this shoe is that each year Nike updates the look and color ways. You can opt for the newer versions which are very reasonably priced to begin, or choose a style from a previous year which would most likely be a bit discounted.
The shoe runs true to size, however I sometimes size up half a size for my workouts such as running but sticking to your true size for lots of walking around the parks would work just fine. I think it is worth noting I have an average sized foot in terms of width, these shoes would work well for just about anyone!
The Pegasus also come in a version called Nike Pegasus Shield which is weatherized, also known as waterproof. This would make a great option if during your vacation there may be a higher chance of showers for multiple days. I can speak from first hand experience walking my daughter over two miles to and from school in rainy conditions, only to come home to completely dry feet!
Last point to note, as an individual who loves planning park outfits for myself and my kids, the Pegasus hits the marks for me on being a good looking shoe. Comfort, quality, durability and style make it hit all the marks, I highly recommend the Nike Pegasus for your Disney vacation!
*This white/black/coconut milk colorway is the latest color way I have and wore to our latest Disney trip
2. On Running Cloudnova
On running shoes are not a new brand to the market, but is a newer brand to me. They launched in 2010 but grew to popularity around 2014.
Before our recent trip this last September I purchased a pair of their women’s Cloudnova sneaker in the color way undyed white-white.
I wore them only once before our trip to make sure their comfort was what I was looking for and to say they didn’t disappoint is an understatement.
Not only are they a simple, sleek, great looking shoe to coordinate with my park attire outfits, the comfort they brought was just as great as I could have wanted.
I purchased the all white pair which might not be for everyone but you can’t deny an all white shoe is not only a great closet staple but will go with just about any outfit. If you have questions about cleaning all white shoes, that is super easy but that’s a story for another day or feel free to email us ;)!
The shoe provides great comfort, is stylish and fits true to size. In terms of price, it is very comparable to the Nike Pegasus. A moderate to higher price point depending, but the quality is great and will last you.
3. Nike Court Legacy
A shoe I love is the women’s Nike Court Legacy. This shoe is focused a little more on style and appearance but can still provide the comfort needed for park days.
Is it going to be as comfortable as the two cushioned, active shoes I mentioned above? Probably not, but depends on personal preference.
It is a great option if you’d rather a more lifestyle shoe over a running/walking shoe.
The insole of the shoe does provide excellent comfort and support, I also like that the shoe comes in plenty of colorways as well as in a leather material or canvas depending on your preference.
It also comes in men’s and kid’s styles so you could match your significant other and even your kiddos! I believe it runs true to size and would suggest ordering your true shoe size.
I like and own the white/black/volt/white color way (volt is the color on the insole) which you can style with just about any outfit, however there are other fun color ways available! This shoe clocks in under $75 which is a much more affordable option versus running shoes - you can even often find the certain color ways on sale for under $60!
4. Chuck Taylor All Star Lift Platform Leather
Who doesn’t love the classic style of a Chuck Taylor?
You may be surprised to see these hit my list but these truly are a great option for both style and comfort.
For my girls concerned with both how their outfits will look put together while still remaining comfortable throughout the park days (hi, it’s me!) these are definitely a must.
I’ve owned both classic low top classic Chucks in the vintage canvas, as well as my low top Chuck Taylor All Star lift platform in the leather - love them both.
I actually wore the platform leather pair during one of our January trips when I was about 15 weeks pregnant with our littlest guy.
Not only was I chasing around two kiddos (almost 4 and almost 2 at the time) but I was also in my second trimester with our third baby and these shoes provided more than enough comfort.
I would recommend wearing the ankle tab socks, I like to wear those really with any sneaker or lifestyle shoe, but especially with the Converse to assure maximum comfort for the day.
I particularly like the Lululemon women’s power stride tab sock in the three pack! These platform Converse come in around $75, again a very affordable lifestyle shoe, a little more so than an actual athletic or running shoe. For sizing, as with any Converse shoe, I suggest sizing down a half or whole size! I am a true 8.5, 9 for running shoes and I size down to an 8 in all my Converse.
5. Lululemon Blissfeel Trail Women’s Running Shoe
The last shoe I’d highly recommend for consideration for your Disney vacation is the Lululemon Blissfeel Trail Women’s Running Shoe.
I saw this shoe, specifically in the color way silver drop/baked clay/vapor and fell in love. It has my name written all over it. The aesthetic and look of the shoe would look great with just about any park outfit, while also providing the much needed comfort. I initially read reviews of the shoe and was turned off but months later decided I needed to try it for myself - I am glad I did!
The sole provides plenty of comfort with great moulded heel support allowing you to remain comfortable and supported all day long.
The cost is moderate for a running shoe (and Lululemon at that) coming in under $160. I purchased a size 8, so I suggest sizing down either a half or whole size.
