The Best Stroller for Your Next Walt Disney World Vacation: A Mom’s Review

Hi there! I’m Lauren, Matt’s wife and Mom to our three littles. While I may not be the Disney and Universal guru that my husband is, I have a passion for ironing out the child-specific details for our trips. From the art of efficient packing for our kiddos, navigating travel day activities on the plane, to selecting the optimal stroller for both transit and park days, I enjoy experimenting to find what works best for our family. And while the options I discuss below have worked best for us, they may not work for you. We think are worth checking out as they have served our family very well on multiple trips!

The Magic of Disney with the Right Stroller

Part of the magic of a Disney vacation (or any family vacation) is the planning process. Considering every detail carefully can be a bit exhausting, and that includes choosing the right stroller. You must consider the safety and comfort of your children, maneuverability, size, weight and cost.

A stroller is not just a convenience—it’s an essential part of the Disney experience that ensures both you and your little ones can fully enjoy your vacation. Having the right stroller means having the freedom to explore Disney at your own pace. It gives you the ability to navigate through the parks with ease, allowing your children to rest when needed (and it will be needed!) and providing ample storage for your day-to-day necessities (and bags of merchandise). This extra touch of comfort and accessibility truly elevates your Disney vacation.

So, when planning your trip, remember that choosing the right stroller is choosing to enhance the magic of your Disney vacation.

The Best Single Stroller for Air Travel

To start, I’d love to talk about the options of strollers for traveling when flying. For one of our last few trips our kids were six months, two, and four. We used our Baby Jogger City Tour 2 single stroller in jet and rotated all three kids through it as needed during the travel day.

One of our favorite features about the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 travel stroller is the fact that it is airplane FAA compliant and fits in the overhead storage bins, so there is no need to gate check. When you invest money into a stroller, travel can be a bit daunting. The last thing you want is to land at your destination and receive a broken stroller back! By putting the stroller in the overhead bin, you have some control to ensure it’s cared for.

Some other highlights of the stroller include the weight of the stroller (only fourteen pounds!), one step fold, the multi position padded seat reclines to a near flat position for naps, it can be used with adapters to provide use for car seats. It also comes with a travel bag, another perk! While we love this stroller for travel it could be easily used through the parks as well.

The Best Double Stroller for Travel

While a single stroller is manageable, with 2 or more kids, a double stroller is best. We’ve tried quite a few double strollers and the overall best double stroller for travel we’ve found is the Uppababy G-Link V2. Make no mistake, this is an expensive stroller, especially if you add on the not included travel bag. But in our experience, it is worth the price if you are investing in a long-term double stroller for your family.

Some features we love include the wide age range of kids it fits. The stroller is suitable for infants three months to children fifty-five pounds. It’s light weight for a double stroller clocking in at 28.3 pounds and easy to fold, which is important when hopping on and off Disney transportation like a bus or the Skyliner. Each seat independently reclines from the other, which is a huge benefit at Walt Disney World when one child is exhausted and another wants to look around and explore. There is ample storage, with storage pockets on the back of the canopies, seats and a large undercarriage pocket.

You can also register your gear with Uppababy when traveling and in the event that something is damaged, Uppababy will provide you with a replacement that airlines do not always provide. We did opt to purchase the travel bag which was very easy to bring with us through the airport until we gate checked our stroller. Once we arrived to MCO (Orlando) our stroller was conveniently waiting for us on the ramp after exiting the plane.

The Most Durable Single and Double Strollers for Walt Disney World

Now moving to stroller transportation for our littles while visiting the actual parks, we have tried a few different options. On a recent trip we decided to bring our own stroller (instead of renting, an option discussed below), the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 single stroller. There are various newer styles from Bob (ours was purchased in 2018), however we wanted to link the exact stroller we own.

We have used this in our everyday life, as well as on one of our trips for the last five years and have zero complaints about its functionality. We did have to check this with our bags which was no problem at all, however we once again opted to purchase a travel bag. The travel bags make the actual traveling much easier and gives a bit more insurance that the stroller is less likely to be damaged.

The one bit I did not enjoy about traveling with the Bob was that you do have to remove the front tire in order to properly fit the stroller in the travel bag — a relatively minor inconvenience.

The Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 single stroller was fantastic to use at the park. Both our older children could ride either single, or sit in front of the other when they both needed a break. Our littlest could also be swapped in there, but we loved to carry him in the Baby Bjorn Carrier to nap and look around the parks. Some aspects of the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 stroller to highlight include one handed recline adjustment, near flat recline or fully upright seating, a large easy access under storage basket as well as 6 additional storage pockets. For more storage we also packed our handlebar console, which was great for drinks and accessing smaller necessities like phones. We didn’t bring them but they also make snack trays that would be great for the kiddos while having a snack on the go at the park or finishing up packed lunches.

One aspect we love about the Bob is the rugged durability it provides. The build and materials of the stroller make it easier to handle the wear and tear, bouncing, and getting tossed around on the bus or Skyliner. It’s easy to fold down when jumping onto Disney transportation. It also provides a mountain bike style suspension, which is great for the parks, that have a bit of a rugged terrain. Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom all have some uneven terrain, and the suspension helps alleviate large bumps while the kids are in the stroller.

The Best Stroller for 3 Kids at Walt Disney World

Another full size stroller I would like to touch on that I think would be great for the parks depending on your travel situation is the Uppababy Vista V2. We’ve used this stroller for years with our kids for day to day activities and love it. The smooth drive of the V2 is unlike any stroller we have ever used and to my Husband’s avail we have quite the arsenal of strollers — I’ll vouch though and he cannot deny that we use them all pretty much weekly. The Uppababy Vista V2 can comfortably accommodate up to three kids in a wide range of ages when used with accessories like the Piggyback Ride Along.

Some qualities of this stroller to highlight include full size toddler seats, extendable UPF 50+ canopies with an easy to see window that provides extra airflow and an extra large basket that can hold up to thirty pounds. The downside of this stroller that is dependent on your travel situation is that it is a full size stroller that can be quite bulky when traveling via car or plane. It does have multiple attachments that can be accommodated with travel bags but there is no getting around the amount of seats (if using with multiple kids) and the attachments that come with it if need be.

This is also an expensive option, but there are few strollers (rental or otherwise) that can accommodate 3 kids.

Stroller Rental Options at Walt Disney World

The other option we chose while on our most recent trip was to rent a stroller from the company Scooter Bug. Before diving into the specifics, let me just say we will rent from this company time and time again. We will probably never do anything else because the experience with the company was great as well as the ease of it all!

It is essentially like bringing your own stroller on vacation, without the hassle of traveling, checking and physically bringing it with you on your travel days. Now, before you think, why not just rent a stroller from the parks? I’ll tell you why. Aside from the park strollers not having great storage, they are also not the greatest in terms of comfortability — especially if you have a little one who might need to nap while on the go at the parks.

Most importantly however, the pricing is actually in favor of renting from a company like ScooterBug on top of the convenience of it all. On a multi-day rental, a single stroller from one of the various Walt Disney World Parks or Disney Springs cost $13 a day, whereas a multi-day rental for a single stroller from Scooter Bug costs $11.25 a day depending on the brand and model of stroller you choose for your visit. To compare on the side of double strollers, a multi-day rental from Walt Disney World Parks for a double stroller costs $27 a day whereas a multi-day rental for a double stroller from Scooter Bug costs on average $15 a day. In addition to these great prices for high quality strollers, the stroller is delivered and waiting for you at the hotel when you arrive making it no inconvenience to have to go somewhere to actually rent it. You have it from the minute you are at your hotel, to the time you leave as well. The hotel handles the pick up and drop off of the stroller for you at Guest Services.

With three littles and all the other commotion that goes in to travel days, we were highly impressed with the service of both ScooterBug and our resort hotel for making even just one thing less stressful or to think about when traveling to Disney. I would like to add that with our rental, we rented to Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 Double, I still packed our handlebar console, this time for the double size stroller which was very helpful in terms of giving those added drink spots on our stroller as well as the additional small pocket for smaller items such as your phone for easy access. Being able to have your stroller with you at all times rather than waiting until renting once in the park is yet another added bonus I loved about using ScooterBug.

Stroller and Baby Accessories for Parks and Travel

Last but not least, I want to include some fun and useful stroller accessories we’ve used and loved that can be used regardless of which stroller you choose or how you choose to get said stroller to the parks.

I mentioned with our Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 strollers we use a handlebar console. I think these are great because they provide extra space for drinks or smaller items that may need to be readily available at an easy reach throughout the day.

For those warmer months, I would highly recommend bringing a stroller fan. We purchased this battery operated fan from Amazon and use it often whether we are on a trip in the warmer months or at home going for walks. It’s battery operated and rechargeable and can be easily wrapped around wherever you may need using the flexible tripod legs.

Finally, my favorite stroller accessory we gifted to my husband one year in his stocking was a stroller name tag. I think the acrylic stroller tags are super cute, I found ours from a small shop on Etsy out of Dallas, Texas — Abigail Pinto Design. She did not have exactly what I was looking for but worked with me to create a custom tag and was super helpful and a joy to work with! I would highly recommend looking at her shop!

In conjunction with the stroller we also used the Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier Free for our littlest - both traveling and at the parks.

Choosing the Best Double Stroller for Disney

To summarize the pros and cons of the strollers I have discussed I’ll start back with the travel strollers. The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 is great because its super light weight and most importantly (in my opinion) fits in the overhead compartment in planes with the included travel bag. It is a single stroller so if you need to accommodate more than one kid at any point during your trip that could be a downside.

The Uppababy GLink V2 on the other hand does accommodate multiple kids and is the best double stroller. It’s lightweight, easy to maneuver, separately reclining seats and easy to fold which make it a great travel option. It does not fit overhead in the airplanes therefore would need to be gate checked and does not include a travel bag.

On the side of full size strollers, the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 single or duallie are great park options. They have multiple pockets and great storage options, easy to maneuver, accommodate multiple kids with a large age range and provide reclining options great for riding or napping. The down side is a travel bag is not included and it can be difficult in a pinch to get the stroller in and out of a travel bag as the front wheel needs to be removed.

The Uppababy Vista V2 has great accommodations which can go from one to three kids, of many ages. Extendable UPF 50+ canopies help on those hot days and the large basket on the bottom holds up to thirty pounds. On the downside, the various attachments needed for multiple kids can become a lot (pricey!) and get quite bulky depending on travel or transportation to and from the parks.

I hope this information is helpful and can help make the vacation planning decisions just a bit easier for you! Let us know in the comments below what you would like to hear about next from a wife and Mom who isn’t a Disney adult but loves going for the ride with my husband and kiddos.
